Robert E. Stroh, 97, of Springfield, died at 5:07 am, Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born March 21, 1924 in Springfield to Orville and Helen (Shoup) Stroh. He married Mary Farley August 19, 1945.
He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Mary; two daughters, Sonya (Richard Reeves) White of Las Vegas, NV and Sallie Fry of Springfield; one son, Dennis (Brenda) Stroh of Springfield; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Theodore Stroh; two brothers, Jack and Jim Stroh; one sister, Janet Mauer; a son-in-law and a granddaughter.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II earning a Good Conduct Medal, 4 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Mottarville Cemetery in Rochester with Reverend Michael Koschmann officiating and where military honors will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Senior Service of Central Illinois, 701 W Mason St, Springfield, IL 62702 for Senior Transportation.
CDC protocol shall be followed.
