Robert Daniel "Bob" Dixon, Sr.

Robert “Bob” Daniel Dixon, Sr., 86, died at 5:00 am, Monday, June 27, 2016 at St. John’s Hospice. He was born on April 21, 1930 in Springfield to John Robert and Gladys Cain Dixon. He married Betty Yeaman on August 27, 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Danny, and his sister, Wilma Cookey.

Surviving are his wife, Betty; two daughters, Sue Ann (Keith) Bull of Sherman and Deb Dixon of Springfield; three grandchildren, Nicole (Chuck) Bull-Eguez and Sean (Christa) Bull and Brooke Bull; three great grandchildren, Dani and Alexander Eguez and Chandler Bull. Also surviving are a sister-in-law Peggy (George) McLaughlin and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He was a member of 1st United Methodist Church. He retired from Fiat Allis after 30 years of service. Bob also worked for Lindsay Electric for 7 years and St. Francis Convent for 20 years.

Memorial Gathering: 4 – 6 pm, Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home.

Richard Chiola officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
