Rita Carol Ann Peters, 78, of New Berlin, died at 10:38 am, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born December 21, 1938 in Jacksonville, to Fred H. and Helen J. Werries Peters.
Survivors include two sisters, Diana McQueen and Sharon Peters both of New Berlin; fifteen nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Melvin, Fred and Harold Peters.
Rita was a member of St. Mary’s Church in New Berlin. She worked as an accountant for the University of Illinois and was director of Accounting for SIU in Carbondale and later worked for State of Illinois in the Comptroller’s office.
Visitation: 9:00 – 11:00 am, Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Mary’s Church in New Berlin.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 am, Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Mary’s Church in New Berlin with Reverend Seth Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

To the Peters Family: I am sorry to hear about Rita's death. It is never easy to deal with losing a loved one because death is something unnatural to us. May God's promise to eliminate death in the future provide you hope for a brighter future (Isaiah 25:8).
