SPRINGFIELD – Rick Arvin, 55, of Springfield died at 11:43 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at St. John’s Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1952, in Sangamon County, the son of Dick and Beverly Killen Arvin.
Mr. Arvin worked for McDonald’s on Clear Lake Avenue. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his daughter, Candee Jean Arvin of Springfield; father and stepmother, Dick Arvin and Opal Loving of Chatham; four sisters, Sher (husband, Jim) Halpin of Dorchester, Debra (husband, Gary) Boatman of Springfield, Patti (husband, Pete) Rooney of Chatham and Janet (husband, Gary) Stierlin of Quincy; brother, Robert (wife, Jennifer) Arvin of St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held, with the Rev. Don Peck officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, near his mother, Beverly, who passed away in October 1999.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
