Richard Lee Milburn, 47, passed away at 12:56 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013, at St. John’s Hospital. He was born on September 28, 1965 in Springfield, IL to Melanony (Egizii) Parker and Rick Milburn.
Rich was employed by Central Management Services as a network technician. He was a member of Christ the King Parish, the Knights of Columbus, the Friday Night Softball League and the TRN Club. Rich was an avid sports fan and played many years of recreational basketball and softball leagues. Rich had a compassionate heart, a wonderful sense of humor and would help any friend or anyone in need. Rich adored his beloved wife and children. They were the center of his life and he loved nothing more than family movie night with his wife and sons.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Thomas Sharkey and niece Rachel Mary Sharkey.
Rich is survived by his wife Mary (Sharkey) Milburn and his two sons, Steven Milburn and Jeffrey Milburn. Also surviving his mother Melanony (Egizii) Parker (South Carolina); father Rick (Mary Anne) Milburn (Mississippi); sister Lisa Milburn Maris (George); grandparents George T. and Mildred Sharp (Springfield); Jack and Geraldine Graham (Missouri) ; aunts Kaye (Larry) Chandler; Gayle (Robert) Laymon; uncle Thomas (Deirdre) Sharp; uncle Terry Milburn; aunt Jeanine (Jim) Alsup; mother in law Felicia Sharkey (California); brother-in-laws Thomas (Wendy); Martin (Maria); Matthew (Wendy); Michael (Kari); sister-in-laws Margaret (Lew); Maureen (Gene); seven cousins and twenty-four nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 pm.
Funeral Mass: 10 am, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Christ the King Church with Reverend Joseph Ring officiating.
