Richard Eugene Stapleton, 76, of Scottsdale, AZ formerly of Springfield, IL, died March 13, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Springfield on August 12, 1939 to Leo Clarence and Catherine Reed Stapleton.
He is survived by three brothers, Dave (Jody) Stapleton of Mattoon, Donald (Cathy) Stapleton of Sherman and Wayne (Kathy) Stapleton of Athens; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Richard was a graduate of Springfield High School and Eastern Illinois University. He was employed in sales.
Graveside Service: Private graveside services will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Berlin.
