Richard “Rick” A. Stengel, 62, of Springfield, died peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born August 28, 1954 in Springfield to Herman J. and Anna Marie Ausmus Stengel. He married Gloria Jean Atchison on October 16, 1989.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria Jean Stengel; son, Richard Stengel; daughter, Tiffany (Travis) Cook; one granddaughter; one sister, Michelle Stengel; two brothers, Joe (Lynne) Stengel and Tracy (Heather) Stengel; sister-in-law, Stephanie Stengel; brother-in-law, Ut Nuygen and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia and brother, Jim.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Staab Funeral Home-Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
