SPRINGFIELD – Regina G. Courtney, 81, of a lifelong resident Springfield, died at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born Nov. 4, 1926, in Rochester, the daughter of William F. and Grace Morris Reynolds. She married Harry L. Courtney on Aug. 12, 1985. Her parents; two sisters, Marjorie Alwardt and Eleanor Pierce; and two brothers, David and Carroll Bud Reynolds, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Courtney was a homemaker and member of Buffalo Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved taking care of her home and tending to her flowers. She was affectionately called precious little Granny.
Surviving are husband, Harry L. Courtney of Springfield; two daughters, Francine (husband, Rick) Jordon of Chatham and Sandy (husband, John) Estill of Petersburg; three sons, Dennis L. (wife, Bronwyn) Leach, Richard P. Leach and Leonard R. (companion, Melissa Brosamer) Leach, all of Springfield; stepdaughter, Cherrie Price of Athens; three stepsons, Harry L. (wife, Martha) Courtney Jr. of Aurora, Colo., Steven E. (wife, Mia) Courtney of Tampa, Fla., and Kevin E. Courtney of Chicago; seven grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandson; six sisters, Marie (husband, Art) Lowry of Decatur, Muriel Shores of Las Vegas, Virginia Patton of Springfield, Shirley (husband, Bill) Spradlin of Pana, Beverly Powers of Springfield and Velma (Gary) Jeff of Twin Falls, Idaho; brother, Frank Reynolds of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home, with Bill Shanle officiating. Burial will be in Old Chatham Cemetery.
