Springfield- Ramona Lee Kennedy, 71, of Springfield died at 1:34 am Monday, October 26, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on January 17, 1944 in Decatur, the daughter of Charles Lee and Margaret Ann (Schubach) Tippit. She married Paul Kennedy on July 14, 1958 and he survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Janet K. Kennedy of Springfield; one son James Lee (Victoria) Kennedy of Sherman; daughter-in-law Shelly Kennedy of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Paul Jerome Kennedy IV, Kallie Marie Kennedy, Chrissie Lee Kennedy, John Kennedy Payne, Fallon Elise Kennedy, Katherine Kennedy and James Kennedy; one great-grandson Willie Lee Karter Mattison; sister-in-law Judy Warden of Lynwood, IL; brother-in-law Daniel (Lori) Kennedy of Kent, WA; one aunt, Charlotte Dexheimer of Chatham and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Gilbert Mosley, two sons, Paul Jerome Kennedy III and John Chris Kennedy and one brother Charles Tippit.

Ramona was the owner and operator of Alcohol and Addictions Outpatient Center, retiring in May 2015. She enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going to the zoo and watching the deer and the ducks.

Visitation: 5-7 pm, Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5pm.

Funeral Mass: 10 am, Friday, October 30, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Church with Rev. Steven Janoski officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
