Ralph G. Bartolomucci, 77, of Sherman died at 5:45 pm on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at his home. He was born June 15, 1939 in Springfield to August and Josephine Saladino Bartolomucci. He married Nancy B. Slagel on October 26, 1963 and she survives.
Also surviving are four children, Mark (Sara) Bartolomucci of Sherman, Dina (Jon) Bailey of Springfield, Christopher (Lisa) Bartolomucci of Springfield and Angelina (Anthony) Bollero of Springfield; grandchildren, Marissa and Tony Bartolomucci, Giuliana and Nicholas Bailey, Adrianna Bartolomucci, and Francesca Bollero; Ginger Aschenbrenner, mother of Adrianna Bartolomucci of Athens; mother-in-law, Nancy Slagel of Sherman; one sister, Nancy (Vern) Clark of Lilburn, GA; brother, Leonard (Annette) Bartolomucci of Springfield; sister in law, Linda Monroe of Sherman and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, John Slagel and aunts, uncles and a nephew.
Ralph was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Springfield and the Roman Cultural Society. He was a volunteer at the Animal Protective League, Griffin High School, Ursuline Academy and St. Joseph’s Church.
Ralph retired from the United States Postal Service as manager after over 40 years of service. He was a resident of Springfield prior to residing in Sherman for the last 10 years.
Visitation: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home with Monsignor John Ossola officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
