Phyllis Arlene Michael, 82, of Springfield died at 7:50 am, Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born March 29, 1935 in Charleston, IL to John and Aulsa Murphy Alexander.
Surviving are one daughter, Rhonda (Gerald) Davenport of Springfield; one grandchild, Alex (Jennifer Durr) Davenport of Pawnee; three brothers, Jerry Alexander of Buffalo Grove, Greg Alexander and Brad (Susan) Alexander, both of Mattoon and several nieces nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant sons, Kirby Neal and Terry Dean.
She enjoyed crafts, flower arranging and decorating. Above all, she enjoyed being with her family. She retired in 1997 from Sangamon State University where she worked for the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lewis Memorial Christian Village for the wonderful care given to Phyllis.

Rhonda im so sorry to learn of your mother's passing. Even though it's been years (more than 50) since I have seen you or her, I have great memories of time spent together in Bushton. You'll be in my prayers. Debbie Spence Creech
