SPRINGFIELD – Phyllis A. Ellison, 71, a lifelong resident of Springfield, died at 10:23 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born May 6, 1938, in Springfield. She was the daughter of father, Cash A. Wilson; mother, Myrtle L. Bruce Wilson; and stepfather, James C. Kendall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; two sisters, Helen Wenger and Doris Powell; and a brother, John A. Wilson.
She was a nurse at St. John’s Hospital, retiring after 32 1/2 years of service. She was a member of West Side Christian Church.
Surviving are two sons, Kendall A. Ellison of Loami and Kelly R. Ellison of Springfield; a grandchild, Chad K. Ellison of St. John, Ind.; a brother, Robert D. (Barbara) Wilson of Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Sweetwater.
