SPRINGFIELD – Paul T. Suter, 92, of Springfield died at 4:55 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
He was born May 25, 1917, in Winchester, the son of Alex and Ida Mae Strowmatt Suter. He married Erna B. Bernahl on Nov. 15, 1940.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Erna B. Suter; a daughter, Marilyn Thomas of Springfield; a son, Paul E. Suter of Springfield; two grandchildren, Brent (Kelly) Bosie and Brice (Annette) Bosie; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Chase Bosie; and a brother, Charles Kenneth (Wanda) Suter of Springfield.
Paul lived in Springfield most of his life. He retired after 43 years at Fiat-Allis as a mill wright. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and World War II veteran. He enjoyed spending winters in Orchid Lake, Fla. near Newport Richey after retirement.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with Pastor Wayne Hoffman officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery with honors.
