Paul James Lawler
SPRINGFIELD – Paul James Lawler, 76, of Springfield, died Saturday, July 14, 2007 at St. John’s Hospice.
He was born December 18, 1930 in Beardstown, IL, the son of Paul N. and Estella Ward Lawler. He married Rosemary Russell on November 22, 1951. One son, James Martin Lawler, and one grandchild, Alexander James Lawler, preceded him in death.
Mr. Lawler , with is wife, owned The Mustard Seed since 1975. He previously worked at the Beardstown Star and then moved to Springfield and worked for many years for the State Journal-Register as a typesetter. He was a member of Hope Evangelical Free Church. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors: wife, Rosemary Lawler of Springfield; one daughter, Jan (husband, Phil) Keller of Springfield; one son, Jay (wife, Lisa) Lawler of Quincy; and five grandchildren, Katelyn, Allison, Olivia, Josef, and Nathaniel Lawler.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2007. Services: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2007, Reverend Chad Pickering officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home of Service.
