Paul H. Pearman, 89, of Springfield died at 12:51 am on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born February 23, 1928 in Blanford, IN to William H. and Mary Thompson Pearman. He married Norma J. McKinzie on September 13, 1947 and she preceded him in death on November 2, 2005.
He is also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald; longtime friend, Russ Carmean and brother-in-law, Doyle McKinzie.
He is survived by one son, William P. (Virginia) Pearman of Springfield, daughter, Kathy J. (Steve) Rudolph of Springfield; five grandchildren, Paul Pearman of Chicago, John (Beth) Pearman of Springfield, Kathryn Pearman of Edwardsville, Michael Rudolph of Houston, TX and Erica (Matthew) Bryant of Monticello; two great grandchildren, Caroline Bryant and Henry Bryant; several nieces and nephews and longtime companion, Marge Starling of Springfield.
Paul enlisted at 17 years of age and proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 71 where he was past master in 1981. He was a life member of DAV Hall Hagler #15, Life member Elks Lodge 158 and Elks Senior Tuesday Golf League for many years.
He was employed at Fiat Allis for 40 years and retired as supervisor of cost engineering and Illinois Department on Aging, retiring as a supervisor in fiscal operations.
Visitation: 10:30 am-12:30 pm, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home- Springfield with Pastor Mark Gifford officiating. Burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
