SPRINGFIELD – Patricia Ann Duffy Schnapp, 71, of Springfield died at 3:27 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born March 28, 1937, in Springfield, the daughter of Thomas and Lena Pearson Duffy. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Duffy, on Oct. 1, 2006.
Mrs. Schnapp, a resident of Springfield most of her life, was self-employed in the cleaning business and a caregiver for 30 years. She attended Blessed Sacrament Church, was a full-time mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and caretaker of the elderly.
Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Ann Mataya of Chicago; three sons, Kenneth (wife, Venetia) Schnapp of Chatham and Michael Paul Schnapp and Thomas E. (wife, Theresa) Schnapp, both of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Melissa, Amy, Aaron, Jonathan, Ashley, Alicia, Amber and Ethan; five great-grandchildren, Christian, Jace, Riley, Landon and Mia; four sisters, Evelyn Prior, Bonnie (husband, Bill) Schlich, Mary Lou (husband, Doug) Roberts and Sandra (husband, Gary) Cody, all of Springfield; a sister-in-law, Patsy Duffy of Springfield; four brothers, James Duffy and Bill (wife, Bonnie) Duffy, both of Springfield, LeRoy (wife, June) Duffy of Chatham and Donnie (wife, Julie) Duffy of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4 p.m. until time of memorial service at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home with the Rev. David Hoefler officiating.
