Pamela Ann Paoni, 63, of Dawson died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at Heartland Health Care in Decatur.
She was born Sept. 8, 1946, Springfield, the daughter of Jerry and Juanita Blackburn Banning. She married Kenneth Paoni on Aug. 1, 1964.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and three brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Paoni of Dawson; two daughters, Jill (Henry) Abel of Illiopolis and Jennifer (Mark) Sudholt of Springfield; a son, Kenneth (Leah) Paoni Jr. of Riverton; four granddaughters; a grandson; two sisters, Joette (Mike) Hessick of Utah and Mary (Charlie) Hensley of Blandinsville; three brothers, Mike Banning and Jeff Banning, both of Springfield, and Leo Banning of Louisiana and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pamela retired from the state of Illinois, where she worked in workers compensation claims.
She was a member of St James Church in Riverton, Koininia Group, and was a lay associate for the Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 4:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at St. James Church in Riverton, with the Rev. Joseph Ring officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
