SPRINGFIELD – Norma I. Hurt, 80, of Springfield died at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
She was born Dec. 22, 1926, in Loami, the daughter of H. Carl and Kathryn Wieprecht Greenwood. She married Richard C. Hurt on May 21, 1956. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Cleo Patterson.
Mrs. Hurt was formerly of Riverton. She was a self-employed wedding cake baker and decorator. She was a member of Riverton Christian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Richard C. Hurt of Springfield; 2 daughters, Veronica Scott of Riverton and Sherry Tice of Colorado; three sons, Rick Hurt of Houston, Charles (wife, Debbie) Hurt of Peoria and Tom (wife, Debbie) Hurt of Riverton; a grandson, Brian (wife, Jessica) Hurt of Peoria; a granddaughter, Amanda Hurt of Riverton; a great-grandson, Bodhe; a brother, Carl I. (wife, Barbara) Greenwood of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2008, at Riverton Christian Church with Casey Scott officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Riverton Christian Church.
