SPRINGFIELD – Nathan Allen Myers, 15, of Springfield died at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital.
He was born April 9, 1993, in Springfield, the son of Jamie Myers and Melanie Thornton. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sherre Thornton-Bouvet.
He was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He was active in Progressive Kempo Karate, training under Amy Giles. He attended Lanphier High School. He loved writing music, riding his bike, designing graphic arts and socializing. He gave the give of life by being an organ donor with Gift of Hope.
Surviving are his parents, Jamie Myers and Melanie Thornton of Springfield; paternal grandparents, Patrick and Jean Myers and maternal grandfather, David A. Thornton, all of Springfield; three aunts; two uncles; and several cousins.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home with the Rev. John Keyes officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
