Nancy M. Keeley, 79 of Springfield died at 12:25 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012 at St. John’s Hospice. She was born January 18, 1933 in Decatur to Joseph and Minnie Pfeifer Richey. She married Thomas Paul Keeley, Jr. in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1998. A son, Thomas Keeley who died in February of 2012, and a grandson, Jeff Bensko also preceded her in death.
Suvivors include three daughters, Paula (Robert) Bensko of Springfield; Karen McVickers of Chatham and Linda (John) Kennedy of Glenarm; one son, Michael (Cheryl) Keeley of St. Cloud, MN; 15 grandchildren, Jeremy and Josh Keeley; Sarah Kennedy; Ryan McVickers; Ian and Nathan Richardson; Ashley, Emily and Matt Bensko; Morgan Carroll; Shaun, Grant and Robert Keeley; Selby Jordan and Kelsey Celeste Barron; one great grandchild, Kalen Paul Keeley; seven sisters; Colleen Lauduski, Jeanette (Forrest) Nelson, Mari Alice Cordle, Kathleen (Phil) Hill, Phyllis Richey, Beverly (Cliff) Matthews, Barbara Ferguson; two brothers, Joseph (Michelle) Richey and Daniel (Sharon) Richey; Beloved friend, Joe Curry of Springfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nancy attended Sacred Heart Academy and Lincoln Land Community College. She was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Lincoln and Springfield, IL. She retired after 29 years of service with the Illinois Department of Revenue as Assistant Division Manager/Business Account Processing
Visitation: 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 pm.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Reverend Peter Harman officiating, Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Home Hospice or St. John’s Hospice
