Nancy L. Sauer, 77, died at 11:27 am, Saturday December 12, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on June 28, 1938 in Springfield to John and Dorothy Mayes Foreman. She married Edward “Ed” H. Sauer on October 20, 1956 who preceded her in death on October 23, 2007.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, John Foreman Jr., and sister, Judith Foreman Williams.
Surviving are one son, Edward W. (Julie) Sauer of Springfield; two daughters, Patti L. (Kim) Sauer of Springfield and Toni M. (Michael) Mitchell of Chesapeake, VA; seven grandchildren, Stephen Sauer, Erica Sauer, Madison Sauer, Mykayla Mitchell, Marcus Mitchell, Mackenzie Mitchell, and Madilyn Mitchell; great grandchild, Jaice Worthy; brother, Tom (Karen) Foreman of Port Orchard, WA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Nancy was previously employed as a clerical worker with the Illinois Department of Revenue from which she retired after 25 years of service.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and of the Eagles Aerie #437 Auxillary. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and quilting. Nancy was an avid reader and enjoyed movies and spending time with her family.
Visitation: 5-7 pm Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
