Nancy Jean Mills, 59, of Springfield, IL passed away Friday, June 4, 2010, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 29, 1950, in Springfield, to George and Doris Rape Robson. She married John C. Mills on July 17, 1971. She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Connie Robson; and a sister-in-law, Susan Fults.
Nancy is survived by her husband, John; a daughter, Lori (Donald) Deubler of Chicago; two sons, Eric (Carla) Mills and John R. (companion, Kristy Parrish) Mills, both of Springfield; three grandchildren, Kenton Foster, Arianna Mills and Nicolas Mills; mother, Doris Robson of Riverton; a sister, Carol (Charles) Cusumano of Riverton; a sister-in-law, Betsy Keefe of Lincoln; a brother, George Richard (Patricia) Robson of Girard; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David (Sandy) Mills of Metamora; an uncle, Thomas Robson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nancy was a member of the Royal Red Velvets Chapter of the Red Hat Society. She was of the Catholic faith and loved reading, writing and scrapbooking. Nancy worked for the Illinois House of Representatives as a legislative secretary, Illinois Nurses Association, Department of Defense and was a Mary Kay Representative. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home, with Chaplin John Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
