Nancy J. Van Den Bossche, 79, of Springfield, died 8:07 am, Friday, January 13, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born October 30, 1937, in Chicago, IL to Richard and Roberta (McLamore) Fox.
Survivors include her five children: Walter Van Den Bossche, of Springfield; Cynthia (Jerry) Biggart of Virden, Lisa (Tom) Daley of Springfield, Gail Van Den Bossche of Springfield, and Charles (Margo) Van Den Bossche of Maryland; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Coon; five brothers, Richard, Robert, Danny, Jeffery and Vincent Fox; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Michael and Patrick Fox.
Nancy retired in 2004 as a Legal Secretary from SIU School of Medicine after thirty years of service. She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church as a choir member and served as the President of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Her children and grandchildren were the source of immense pride and joy and she enjoyed being a part of their lives and activities. She also enjoyed eating out with friends and family. She loved old movies, reading, and sitting on the porch.
Visitation: 10-11 am, Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. Cabrini Church.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 am, Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. Cabrini Church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
