On July 20, 2017, Zane Beck left his wheelchair behind at the Champaign Urbana Nursing and Rehabilitation and went to his heavenly home. Alzheimer’s disease claimed him no more.
He was born in Springfield, Illinois on August 12, 1927 to gladden the lives of his parents Elizabeth and Jay Beck, now deceased.
Zane graduated from Lanphier High School in 1945. He served in the army at Fort Sheridan as a cook. When he returned home he worked at Allis Chalmers and then became an American Family Insurance Agent.
On September 10, 1949 he married Alice Offer and this year would have been their 68th wedding anniversary.
When he retired he enjoyed traveling and camping. Zane spent many years with his family and friends at the campground at Coon Creek. Those were the fun years in his life.
He was a member of West Side Christian Church for twenty-five years. While there he enjoyed cutting the grass, working at the camp and being a member of the Beau Knot Class.
He is survived by his wife Alice L. Beck of Urbana; one daughter, Debbie McKillop of Urbana; Randy (Peggy) Beck of Windsor; five grandchildren, Keri (Shaun) Greear of Champaign, Michael McKillop of Urbana, James (Kristi) Beck of Wheaton, Chris (Kirk) White of DeSoto, TX and Joel Beck of Windsor; one great grandchild, Kendall Greear; one sister, Janet (Jack) Chrans of Springfield; two brothers, Don (Marcia) Beck of Edmonds, WA and Bob (Ree) Beck of Mansfield, MO and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

To The Family and Friends of Mr. Milton Beck, Hello. Although I didn't know Mr Beck or the family personally, I do want to express my condolenses to everyone who knew him. When we lose a loved one, it can be one of the hardest things to deal with. I wanted to share a scripture from the bible with you that has comforted me in the loss of a loved one. That is Revelation 21:4, which says, "God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more. Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." I'm sure that in these trying times, you have experienced many of these feelings. This scripture is a promise from God himself, talking about the hope for the future that he has given us. Won't it be wonderful when this promise is fulfilled? I hope this can be encouraging to you. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.
