Mildred Bell Keppler

October 13, 1916 - July 11, 2014

Mildred Bell Keppler, 97, of Springfield, died at 5:06 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on October 13, 1916 in Springfield to Roy C. and Jessie Ada Bell Ashton. She married Frank C. Keppler on February 20, 1937 and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1984.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Melvin Ashton and a nephew, Jerry Berry.

Mildred is survived by her two daughters, Donna (Michael) Neuner of Lawrence, KS and Betty (Phil) Matson of Dayton, OH; two grandchildren, Kelly (Brian) Poplin of Springboro, OH and Kathy (Roy) Mangrum of Nashville, TN; two great grandchildren, Isaac and Evan Poplin; two nieces, Sharon (Albert) Darran of Springfield and Mary Lou Berry of Success, AR and many treasured friends.

She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and the Christian Women’s Club. We will smile when we think of her Harley-Davidson rides she enjoyed from age 90-94. The family treasures our memories of our precious “Mama Millie” on a motorcycle…AKA “Grandma Rabbit”. Not only did she enjoy laughing, friends, desserts and life, she was also a positive inspiration to all who knew her.
