Mary Marcella Flaminio, 96, of Springfield, passed away at 12:58 pm, Friday, August 4, 2017 at Regency Care. She was born on September 30, 1920 Olney, IL to Charles and Helen (Rehkemper) Zuber. She married Louis A. Flaminio on June 30, 1945 and he preceded her in death on September 16, 2001.
Survivors include daughters, Helen (Timothy) Patterson of Springfield and Elaine (David) Luneke of Portland, OR; sons, Charles (Francine) Flaminio of Buffalo Grove and Keith (Lori) Flaminio of Bellbrook, OH; six grandchildren, Jenna (Ron) Williams, Christa (Nathan) Zak, Brad (Caryl) Flaminio, Dana (Jared) Davis, Clara Luneke, and Eric Luneke; five great grandchildren, Alaina, Natalie, Colin, Corbin, and Gwendolyn; sisters, Catherine Humphries of Springfield and Margaret Meyer of Dieterich and brother, Eugene (Carolyn) Zuber of Olney.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Charlene Kistner and brothers, Cyril Zuber, Francis Zuber, and Paul Zuber.
Marcella was a resident of Springfield for most of her life. She previously worked for Sangamo Electric and retired from Sears after twenty years of service.
She was a Charter member of St. Frances Cabrini Church also serving on the Altar & Rosary Society and as a Eucharistic Minister. Marcella also was a member of the Sears retirees, Republican Club, and served on the Board of East End Fire District.
The family of Marcella would like to offer their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Regency Care for the many years of loving care.
Visitation: 9:30-10:30 am, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at St. Frances Cabrini Church.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 am, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at St. Frances Cabrini Church with Reverend Scott Thelander officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Helen, I was very sorry to read about the loss of your Mother. I have always remembered when you invited all of the students at St. John's for dinner at your house. Your Mother was very kind, and made the best spaghetti I've ever had. I will keep all of you in my prayers.
