SPRINGFIELD – Mary Louise Merideth-Maple, 60, of Springfield died at 4 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born July 15, 1948, in La Crosse, Wis., the daughter of Raymond and Mercedes Balzer Merideth. She married Gary Lynn Maple Sr. on Aug. 14, 1993.
She was a resident of Springfield since 1971. She worked for Venture for 12 years, then retired from Kmart as a cashier. She was a graduate of Central High School in La Crosse, Wis. She was a member of Living Faith Baptist Church in Sherman. She was an Awana leader in the Baptist Church Association, she enjoyed cross stitching, she loved her friends, church family and her own family. She was a wonderful baker, especially known for her chocolate chip cookies.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Lynn Maple Sr. of Springfield; five daughters, Pamela Hryhorysak of Sarasota, Fla., Lisa Thomas of Columbus Junction, Iowa, Tina Solida of Bradford, Ark., Laquetta Maple of Malden, Mo., and Brenda Maple of Springfield; two sons, Gary Lynn Maple Jr. of Indianapolis and Christopher A. Maple of Springfield; 10 grandsons; a great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and -nephews; and a cousin, Harold Johnson of Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at Living Faith Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Emerson officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
