SPRINGFIELD – Mary Lou Hesson, 81, of Springfield passed away at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
She was born May 2, 1927, in Springfield, the daughter of Charles R. and Marie Larsen Bohles. She married Ottis Hesson; he preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Donald and Kevin; and a granddaughter, Emma Hesson.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald (wife, Judith) Hesson of Highland, Kenneth (wife, Sue) Hesson of Springfield and Steve (wife, Jennifer) Hesson of Athens; three daughters-in-law; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (wife, Joan) Bohles of Springfield; and a niece.
She was a lifelong resident of Springfield and worked as a homemaker. She was a member of Church of the Little Flower. She previously was a Cub Scout committee member and helped run the Cy Young Little League. For her work with the Cy Young Little League, she was inducted in the Springfield Sports Hall of Fame as a friend of sports.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be conducted by Deacon Ronald Hesson at 5 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Church of the Little Flower with the Rev. Chuck Edwards officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be donated to the Cy Young Little League.
