Mary Kaye “Pennie” Kleppin, 73, of Springfield, died at 6:37 am, Friday, August 5, 2016, at St. John’s Hospital. She was born November 13, 1942 in Springfield, to Elmer and Katherine Hamilton Houston. She married Walter Thomas Kleppin, Jr. on February 5, 1964 and he survives.
Also surviving are her daughter, Stephanie Kleppin of Ashland; son, Michael (Lori) Kleppin of Mahomet; three grandchildren, Ryon Thomas, Ashley and Connor; three great grandchildren, Ryon Thomas, “RJ”, Jr, Kaleb and Samuel; three brothers Jerald (Susan) Houston of Florissant, MO, Gary (Mary) Houston of Pana and Terry Houston of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary was a resident of Springfield most of her life and was a waitress at several local Restaurants.
Memorial Gathering: 9:30 – 11:30 am, Friday, August 12, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield.
Graveside Service: 12 pm, Friday, August 12, 2016 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
