Mary Jean Christen Cimarossa, 90, of New Berlin, died at 11:15 am, Monday, February 20, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born December 12, 1926 in Ashland to John E. and Mary “Maizel” Reiser Christen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and great grandson.

Survivors include six children, John (Marilyn) Cimarossa of Sugar Hill, GA, Jeannie (Ron) Hipsher of New Berlin, Jim (Debbie House) Cimarossa of Pleasant Plains, Jan (Michele) Cimarossa of Pawnee, Joe Cimarossa of Springfield and Carol Cimarossa of New Berlin; father of her children, Quinto J. Cimarossa of New Berlin, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Hartman and Carol Tavernor, both of Lincoln; one brother, Ted (Wanda) Christen of Sherman and several nieces and nephews.

Jean was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She enjoyed reading and was very involved in her faith and spending time with her family. She retired from St. John’s Hospital as a Cardiovascular Secretary after many years of service and was a resident of New Berlin since 1982.

Visitation: 9:30-11:00 am, Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Church.

Funeral Mass: 11:00 am, Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Reverend Scott Thelander officiating. Burial to follow at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Ashland, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Animal Protective League or Blessed Sacrament Building Fund.
