Mary Jacqueline “Jackie” Thompson
SPRINGFIELD – Mary Jacqueline “Jackie” Thompson, 78, of Springfield, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at her residence.
She was born October 1, 1928 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Edward L. and Helen Houlihan Williams. She married Edward Patrick Thompson on January 30, 1949; he preceded her in death on March 24, 2004. Her parents and one brother, Edward Williams, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Thompson was a retired tax specialist, working 20 years with the Illinois Department of Revenue. She was a member of St. Joseph Church. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, playing cards, coloring, and watching movies. She loved spending time with her family.
Survivors: two daughters, Mary Jo (husband, Alan) Coffey of Oakford and Jean Thompson of Florida; one son, Peter Thompson of Springfield; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia (husband, Jack) Rolens of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Church.
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2007. Prayers: 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Church, Monsignor Thomas Holinga officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home of Service.
