Mary Gladys “Pat” Goldstein, 89, of Mechanicsburg, died at 1:50 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2011 at St. John’s Hospice. She was born June 27, 1922 in rural Kentucky to Oliver and Esther Denny Horton. She married Andrew Goldstein on January 10, 1942 and he preceded her in death on November 28, 1993. She is also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Patricia Roberson and Peg Evans; a son-in-law, Joe Roberson; two sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis (Jerry) Jourdan of Riverton, Mary (Don) Hartlaub of Springfield and Chris (Randy) Hughes of Mechanicsburg; one son, Tony (Mary) Goldstein of Mechanicsburg; one son-in-law, Richard Evans of Centerville, OH; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Betty Gelish of Peoria; one aunt and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was a member of St. James Church in Riverton. She was avid reader and enjoyed working word searches. She enjoyed watching basketball and the Cardinals. She loved her family and spending time with them was her greatest love.
She was employed by Memorial Hospital and Tri-City Schools and was a homemaker.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 pm.
Lie-in-State: 10-11 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. James Church in Riverton.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. James Church in Riverton with Reverend Joseph Ring officiating. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
