Mary Gilda Antonacci, 94, of Riverton, died at 2:25 am, Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Capitol Care. She was born September 22, 1916 in Windber, PA to Joseph and Maria Nuncia Yocca and was the step-daughter of Isadore Fanale. She married Silvio J. Antonacci on January 3, 1948 and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1981. Her parents; three step-sisters, Caroline Hatfield, Margaret Cooke and Flora Pescitelli; and half-brother Henry Fanale, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Ann Fanale of Riverton; several nieces and nephews, including Mary Lu Wanless, whom she raised from childhood; and several great nieces and nephews.
Mary was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Riverton; the Altar and Rosary Society; St. Anthony’s Guild and U of I Home Extension. She was a resident of Riverton most of her life and worked in assembly for Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Company and retired as a secretary for the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis Convent.
Visitation: 10-11 am, Friday, April 29, 2011 at St. James Church in Riverton.
Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2011 at St. James Church in Riverton with Reverend Joseph Ring officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
