SPRINGFIELD – Mary C. Nonneman, 93, of Springfield passed away at 5:15 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at Villa East Health Care Center.
She was born April 10, 1915, in Springfield, the daughter of Henry and Lula McAlister. She married Louis Nonneman; he preceded her in death in 1966. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Henry G. Boehmer.
She is survived by three daughters, Judy (husband, John) Hiler, Nancy Doweny and Rosemary (husband, Thomas) Beam, all of Springfield; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, John Robert (wife, Jean) Boehmer of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Springfield and a member of St. Agnes Church. She worked at Thrifty Drug Store, at Fifth and Monroe streets, where she retired after 15 years of service. She was also a homemaker. She loved playing golf and was a Chicago Cubs fan.
Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at St. Agnes Church with the Rev. Peter Harman officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
