SPRINGFIELD – Mary C. Berry, 62, a lifelong resident of Springfield, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born May 11, 1945, in Springfield, the daughter of John and Mabel Ray Morris Graves. She married Freeman Al Berry on March 21, 1986; he preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 2005. Her parents and two brothers also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Berry worked at McDonald’s for 10 years and also was a homemaker. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and a member of Sangamon Towers Kitchen Band.
Surviving are a sister, Donna (companion, Bob Travis) of Owaneco; two sisters-in-law, Nora and Wilma Morris; brother, Vernon (wife, Velma) Morris of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews, including Dewey Morris of Springfield.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Fairview Baptist Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Fairview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bob Gebhardt officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
