Mary Ann Evans, 82, of Springfield, died at 10:35 am, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born April 10, 1935 in Marion, IN, to Asher and Edith Sims Huff. She married Ward W. Evans on August 31, 1957 and he preceded her in death on March 21, 2009.

Survivors include her children, Bill, Karen and Chris Evans all of Springfield; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one sister Margaret (Gene) Wilson of Marion, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Mary Ann was a grade school teacher and worked at Franklin Life Insurance Company.

She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a St. Louis Blues Fan; enjoyed raising her grandchildren and played Cello with the Sangamon Valley Symphony and multiple orchestras.

Visitation: 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, Friday, October 13, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Friday, October 13, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Casey Muehle officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association; Parkinson’s Research or Diabetes Foundation.
