Martha E. Daily

Martha E. Daily, 81, of Springfield, died at 6:35 am, Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born July 23, 1935 in Springfield, to Virgil and Mildred McCarty. She married Jack Daily on August 1, 1953 and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1994.

Survivors include one daughter, Ellen Daily of Springfield; one son, John Daily of Springfield; six grandchildren, Tonia, Timothy, Breanna, Amanda, Aquarius and Virginia; 8 great grandchildren; one brother, Russell McCarty of Auburn; four nephews and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Bernard and Rodger Daily and two brothers, Herman and Phillip McCarty.

Martha was a member of the Salvation Army Church. She was a Sunbeam and Girl Scout Leader and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed embroidery and BINGO and loved being around family and telling stories.

She worked for various Department Stores throughout the years.

Visitation: 2-5 pm, Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.

Graveside Service: 11 am, Monday, June 26, 2017 at Woodwreath Cemetery in New Berlin with Pastor Fred Prince and Pastor Joshua Stansbury officiating.
