Mark L. Mahan, 54, of Chatham, died at 1:07 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2011 at his home. He was born May 25, 1957 in Kingman, AZ to Keith L. and Margaret L “Meg” Bryan Mahan. He married Dawnal A. Butcher on April 8, 1988.
Survivors include his wife Dawnal A. Mahan; 4 children, Crystal (Companion: Robert Keane) Templeton of Springfield, Annisa (Rhett) Bartletti of Divernon, Brandy (Justin) Miller of Mansfield, IL, and Brandon (Fiancé: Tracy Radin) Mendenhall of Mechanicsburg; his parents, Margaret “Meg” and Keith Mahan of Chatham; 6 grandchildren, Torrey, Katherine, Macy, Blake, Emma, and Sophia; sister, Lori Dodson of Chatham; mother-in-law, Barb Butcher of Virden; several aunts uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and his best friend Sadie. Preceding Mark in death is his other best friend Sarah who was waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge.
Mark was a lineman with the village of Chatham. He belonged to TRN Club and IBEW Local 51. He was an avid Harley rider, enjoyed watching Top Fuel and NASCAR and was a Lynard Skynard fan. He also enjoyed his poolside parties and having a cold beer by his back yard bonfires.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 11 am, Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor John Huxtable officiating . Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery, Chatham IL.
