SPRINGFIELD – Marjorie Bernadine Hall, 88, of Springfield, died at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born May 14, 1921, in Naples, the daughter of Leo and Mattie Little. She married Edward E. Hall in 1944; he preceded her in death in 1983.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Hall; and a brother, Bob Little.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Paula J. Hall of Springfield; two grandsons, Edward Hall of Springfield and Michael Hall of Peoria; a great-granddaughter, Miranda; a niece, Marlys (Leonard) Nevins of Louisiana; and a nephew, Dr. Randle E. (Beth) Little of Alabama.
Marjorie was a resident of Springfield for most of her life. She was a sixth grade teacher for the Riverton School District for over 30 years.
Marjorie graduated from Naples and Bluffs High School. She was a 30 year alumni member at UIS where she received her bachelor’s degree in sociology and anthropology and her master’s degree in education administration.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with Vaughn Beeman officiating.
Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bluffs.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Hospital.
