Marjorie A. Till, 84 of Springfield, died at 5:41 pm, Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Concordia Village. She was born August 18, 1927 in Quincy to Edward and Mary Doellman Brinkman. She married Melvin E. Till on May 20, 1948 and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2001. Her parents, one sister, Esther Frese and three brothers Virgil, Robert and Richard Brinkman also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda K. (George) Zock of Riverton and Jane A. (E. Michael) Bradley of Springfield; one son, Gary C. Till of Chatham; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Peter) Rhoda, Christopher (Shannon) Zock, Melanie (Robert) Sanner, Jeffrey (Erin) Bradley, David Bradley, Andrea and Daniel Till; seven great- grandchildren, Alexandra, Adrianna and Anastasia Zock; James “Jay” Rhoda, Andrew and Jacob Sanner and Ella Bradley; one sister, Berniece Pennelli of Medford, MA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marjorie was a resident of Springfield since 1960 and was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She unselfishly devoted her life to her family helping her parents on their family farm, raising her family with her husband, Mel, and babysitting and enjoying time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to “people watch” and travel. She especially enjoyed cruises and trips to Hawaii. She was a devout Catholic. Her presence will be greatly missed.
Visitation: 4-7 pm Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 4 pm.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 am, Monday, March 19, 2012 at Christ the King Church with Monsignor David Lantz and Fr. J. Michael Ewert, O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
