SPRINGFIELD – Margie Josephine Mazzini, 84, of Springfield died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born April 26, 1925, in Springfield, the daughter of Raymond O. and Della Key May. She married Aldo Mazzini on Sept. 27, 1950; he preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2007.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by a daughter, Arlene Schnapp of Georgia; two sons, Emil Alan and Alan T. Mazzini, both of Springfield; five grandchildren, Scott (Teresa), Travis, Erica, Alexis and Dalton; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Lucas, Gage and Cayden; a sister, Shirley L. May of Springfield; and two cousins, Edward and David Key.
Margie was a lifelong resident of Springfield.
She worked at Illiopolis Munitions Plant during World War II and retired from the Sangamon County Election Office. She was the village clerk for Southern View for several years. She was a member of Calvary Temple.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Rose officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
