Margaret ""Marge"" Reid

Margaret “Marge” Reid, 90, of Springfield, died at 8:35 pm, Friday, December 15, 2017 at Heritage Hospice. She was born June 25, 1927, in Rogers Park, IL to John M. Flynn and Lucille E. Brown, and they preceded her in death. She married David G. Reid on July 9, 1949, and he preceded her in death on April 5, 2011.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie R. (Alex) Hardy of Springfield; three sons: David (Dr. Elizabeth Strow) Reid, John “Jack” (Sue) Reid, and James Reid, all of Springfield; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Rita McClure of Springfield; one brother Robert Flynn of Springfield; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Flynn of Springfield and Marilyn Reid of New Jersey; a cousin Ladean Tighe of Jacksonville, among many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hanselmon and brother, John Flynn.

Marge was a resident of Springfield most of her life. She was a homemaker, a receptionist at Doctor’s Park for Dr. Nenaber, as well as co-owner of Pinocchio’s Preschool. She was a member of St. Agnes Church, St. Louise de Merillac, Altar and Rosary Society; involved in various golf groups, and enjoyed her book club, as well as spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation: 9:30-11:30 am, Friday, December 22, 2017 at St. Agnes Church.

Funeral Mass: 11:30 am, Friday, December 22, 2017 at St. Agnes Church with Father Robert Jallas officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
