SPRINGFIELD – Margaret M. Bishop, 100, of Springfield died at 9:57 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at Capitol Care Center.
She was born July 31, 1909, in Dawson, the daughter of John and Emma J. Denkert Fassauer. She married Clyde F. Bishop in 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; parents; and two daughters, Kathleen L. Bishop and Barbara Bishop.
She is survived by dear family and friends, Harry Witvoet and family of South Holland; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; adopted sister and best friend, Ruth Goldbeck of Springfield; three cousins, Carl Wenke, Norman and Bryon Braner; and extended family and friends.
Margaret was formerly of Mountain Home, Ark., then lived in Maywood and returned to Springfield in 1993. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Riverton.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Koschmann officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Gardens in Elmhurst.
