SPRINGFIELD – Margaret Lillian Bolin, 82, of Springfield died at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital.
She was born Oct. 15, 1926, in New Washington, Ohio, the daughter of Marvin A. and Lillian Margaret Shank Jacob. She married William Bill Warren Bolin on June 4, 1949; he preceded her in death on March 3, 1994. Also preceding her in death were her parents; and two sisters, Jane Gettings and Elizabeth Betty Carroll.
Mrs. Bolin was a resident of Springfield for the past two years and had lived in the Decatur area most of her life. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Decatur. She enjoyed golfing and was active with various leagues. She also enjoyed bowling and playing bridge. She was a Red Cross volunteer. She graduated from New Washington High School and Mercy School of Nursing.
Surviving are five daughters, Carol (Bill) Kelly of Springfield, Barbara Hickman of Princeton, Ky., Peggy (Bob) Heer of Rochester, Patty (Dan) Orme of Coralville, Iowa, and Kelly (Mike) George of Woodbury, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and two sisters, Joan Sturgill of Cary, N.C., and Roberta Bobbie O’Brien of Savannah, Ga.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. David Hoefler officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martin de Porres or Masses at Blessed Sacrament.
