Margaret Cecelia "Peggy" Held

Margaret Cecelia “Peggy” Held of Springfield, died at 6:48 am, Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Villa Health Care East surrounded by her loved ones and the compassionate care of the Villa. She was born February 20, 1936 in Springfield, to John and Margaret Sponsler Rodgers. She married John Held and he preceded her in death.
She will be greatly missed by her feline companion, Precious and loving family and friends.

Margaret was of the Catholic Faith. She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy, was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Senior Center. She enjoyed arts and crafts and loved to travel. She worked for many years as a Secretary for the State of Illinois.

Visitation: 10-11 am, Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Reverend Braden Maher officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery Abbey.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Animal Protective League.
