Margaret B. Pearson, 91, of Lutz, Florida, formerly of Springfield died at 6:00 pm, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at her home in Lutz, FL. She was born December 25, 1925 in Springfield, IL to Earnest and Irene O. (Bailey) Usherwood. She married Virgil “Ben” Pearson August 8, 1947 and he preceded her in death March 23, 2007. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Peggy Jones; one sister, Virginia June Huges and one brother, Earnest Usherwood.

Surviving is one daughter, Penny (Robert) Clifford of Lutz, FL; one son, Bruce (Susan) Pearson of Springfield; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret was a member of Pasfield Baptist Church. She belonged to the Elks Ladies. She retired from Sangamo Electric and also worked at St. John’s Hospital. Her and her husband owned and operated Marg & Ben’s Lounge.

Memorial Gathering: 12:00 – 1:00 pm Monday, September 25, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Memorial Service: 1:00 pm, Monday, September 25, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Stan Sommers officiating. A private burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children in St. Louis, MO.
