SHERMAN – Marcella J. Fink, 67, of Sherman, formerly of Springfield for most of her life, died at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at St. John’s Hospital.
She was born Aug. 26, 1940, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Ira and Aileen DeGroot. She married Ivan R. Fink on Sept. 27, 1997.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl DeGroot. Her former husband, Herschel Moore, whom she married in 1980, preceded her in death in 1993.
Mrs. Fink graduated from Lanphier High School in 1958. She was a supervisor of the credit department at CILCO for 33 years, retiring in 1996.
She was an active member of Springfield First Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of Primetimers at her church, where she previously had served as a co-leader. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling and outdoor activities.
Surviving are her husband, Ivan R.; three daughters, Bonnie Pappas of Springfield, Becky Wood of Fort Myers, Fla., and Brenda (husband, John T.) Schultz of Springfield; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth (husband, Bob) Hodges of Springfield and Linda (husband, Jeff) Jaynes of Sherman; a brother, Marvin DeGroot of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at Springfield First Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Fred Prince officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
