M. “Lloyd” Peavy, 73 of Springfield, died at 12:51 am, Friday, July 15, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born September 13, 1937 in Santa Rosa County, Florida to Carlton and Dola Nelson Peavy. He married Connie Freeman on August 8, 1987 and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter Latisha Peavy of Memphis, TN; four sons, Paul (Janis) Peavy of Nashville, TN, Bob (Jamie) Sponsler of Dawson, Grady (Carla)( Peavy of Springfield and Jermey (Sirena) Bounds of Dawson; two grandsons; four granddaughters; one great grandchild; one sister, Virginia (Slim) Jackson of Castleberry, AL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents; three sisters; two brother and one son, Rodney Lloyd Peavy preceded him in death.
He has been a resident of Springfield since the age of 17. He worked in construction and for C.A. Dawson. He retired from Electric Power Controls.
Lloyd was a former Mason and former member of the Eagles Club. He was an avid NASCAR and Cardinal fan and enjoyed camping and fishing.
Visitation: 4-6 pm, Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 1 pm, Monday, July 18, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with Bob Green officiating. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a Charity of the Donor’s Choice.

You have always been a special man to me when i looked at you i always saw the strongest person in the world and nothing could hurt or scare you . i now that god needed you for some reason only he knows but i do no one thing you will be loved and missed. Just wished i could have been with you more . But i will never forget the memories of you when i was a kid.Always got so excited when granny would tell us you was coming down. Was the greatest time in my life to get to see you.
