Malon “John” F. Moore, 84, of Springfield, passed peacefully at 4:50 pm, Monday, August 13, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Surrounded by his loving children he went to be reunited with his beloved wife. He was born July 31, 1928 in Springfield, to Malin and Stella Boroweic Moore. He married Patricia Ruth Dowis on March 25, 1950 and she preceded him in death on December 13, 2010.
Survivors include four children, Sandra (Robert) Brock and Beth Ray both of Springfield, Debbie Hine of St. Louis, MO and Michael (Shawn) Moore of Overland Park, KS; nine grandchildren, Stephanie Reinecke, Jeffrey Ray, Stacie Friedrich, Shelly Ray, Lauren Hine, Stephen Hine, Brianna Moore, Jason Hine and Jillian Moore; nine great grandchildren, Adriana, Serenity, Clayton, Georgie, Griffin, Gavin, Brayden, Maddox and Kiersten; one sister, Bette (Walter) Hickman of Springfield; three nephews, several cousins and his beloved dog, Bella.
John was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He was the first to be baptized at St. Aloysius Church and has been a lifelong member of the parish.
Funeral Service: Private family services will be held with Reverend Tom Donovan officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
