Malinda A. Stanfield

My husband Norm and I extend our deepest sympathies to Ed, Ed, Jr., Bill, and Joe as they face their life without their strongest supporter, that of their wife, mother and friend. Malinda was a loving, caring, and hardworking lady who never gave up and tried to live her life to the fullest each day even while suffering pain and frustration. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know her. She is at peace and smiling at each of us from heaven. E4UP

There is not enough space to explain the hurt and pain I feel over the loss of my dear friend of almost 30 years. Millie (Malinda) could make me laugh like no other and she didn't have to try. She is the only person I know that purchased an entire pecan pie at a church bazzar for that night's dessert. Desire overcame her and she ate the entire pie with her hands on the drive home. Of course she had to hide the evidence before she got home. Every time I see a pecan pie I think of her and smile. When we lived in Mahomet and Millie was deep into her treatments, I would drive to Springfield on Tuesdays and we would have lunch at Red Lobster, she always chose Red Lobster. This was her time to share and vent. She wasn't afraid to die, she did her best to hang on for her family and she put up a galant fight. I am so lucky to have known her and have these great memories. Malinda was my friend. We met when we bought our first home next door to her and Ed. We became fast friends. We were transplants from Chicago and the Stanfield's took us under their wing. We missed our families and Malinda became the friend everyone should be blessed with. She was my comfort and my strength, she listened and let me cry. When our first little girl was born, Malinda was right beside me. She was the most amazing friend and I will miss her with my whole heart and soul. I was blessed by her and will carry her memory with me always. I know I will see her again, and when I do, we will eat M&M's and laugh once again. My God bless you Malinda and give you peace eternal. Malinda was such a blessing to me, and a special friend for many years even if most of the time it was over the phone. While working for the State of Illinois she was such a blessing in helping me in many ways when there was a need in purchasing items for the office. She was gifted in dealing with the public not only in a professional way, but also showed concern and cared about people she dealt with. May the Lord be with each of you during this most difficult time.

Malinda, You were always there for me on any occasion. It didn't matter what time of day or night when I called, you were there. I can stil hear you giving me advice and always will. I will miss you so much. I will pass on all of your recipes that your shared with me so everyone can remember how awesome of a cook you were. I know you will be always watching over me and I will look for your smile when I look up to talk yo you.

Malinda was the best person I believe I have ever known. She always had a smile on her face even through the tough times, had a kind word to say, and made you feel very special. I will miss her but I will keep her spirit alive always and try to live up to the example she set on how to treat people with kindness. My thoughts and prayers are with her great family. ray

Ed and family, it was an absolute pleasure getting to meet Malinda. She will shine bright and beautiful in all your days to come. Although we all share in your mourning, we will also celebrate your memories and love. You have all been very fortunate that she will endure in your lives.

Our sympathies to all of the family. Malinda was a sweet, kind friend and neighbor. We had lots of fun with the ladies in the neighborhood back in the day. Her smile and kindness will be missed by many.

She was one of the finest women I ever had the privilage to know! She was so dedicate to her family, business and community. I will miss her smile and laughter.
